Strega Prize 2026 – Discover the shortlist of the 5 finalist books with the Sydney Book Club “LibrInsieme”

La dozzina del Premio Strega 2026

The Sydney Book Club “LibrInsieme” is meeting in person at the end of its usual literary marathon to discuss and comment on the 5 shortlisted books for the prestigious Strega Prize 2026, now in its 80th year.

The Book Club is an initiative promoted by the Dante Alighieri Society of Sydney and the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney, bringing together readers passionate about contemporary Italian literature in virtual meetings every two weeks.

Specifically, during the last five editions of the Strega Prize, the Book Club’s regular readers have had the opportunity to add their vote to those of the popular jury that selects the five finalist books among those selected by the “Amici della domenica” (Friends of Sunday) and  within the celebrated “Dozzina”, the 12 longlisted books nominated by the Strega Prize Steering Committee. The reading group is also involved in voting for the finalist book of the Dora Nera Prize (dedicated to noir novels) and the Amalago Prize (dedicated to historical novels).

The evening will be an opportunity to discuss contemporary literature and shared reading, but above all to present five books that will undoubtedly be the subject of discussion in the coming months.

A game and an interactive session with the audience will cloture the encounter, where you can try to guess the winner!
