Bittersweet… such is life!
The Istituto Italiano di Cultura is reniewing in 2020 its fruitful collaboration with the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, proposing a new cycle of screenings called Bittersweet… such is life!, which will include movies produced in the last years which will touch on both sweet and bitter aspects of life in contemporary Italy.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Federico Fellini’s birth, two movies by the great Italian director will also be screened, and music group Umbrella’s will present a concert dedicated to the music of Fellini’s movies.
The cycle will present the following movies:
31 March: Pane e tulipani (Bread and Tulips)
28 April: La masseria delle allodole (The Lark Farm)
19 May: La dolce vita (The Sweet Life)
23 June: I vitelloni (The Idle People)
4 August: Pitza e datteri (Pitza and Dates)
8 September: L’accabadora (Angel of Mercy)
13 October: Dieci inverni (Ten Winters)
3 November: Brutti e cattivi (Ugly Nasty People)
