Fare Cinema series 2023
The sixth edition of Fare Cinema will be held from 12 to 18 June 2023. The event organized by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, was firstly launched in 2018 with the aim of providing worldwide audiences with an insight of the Italian film industry.
On the occasion of the 2023 edition, the Italian Cultural Institute in Sydney is pleased to present UNA CLAUSTROCINEFILIA (2022) by Alessandro Aniballi and ONDE RADICALI (2021) by Gianfranco Pannone, two documentaries especially selected by MAECI for its global network, from the 2022 edition of the PerSol (Perugia Social Film Festival) where they obtained a significant response from critics and audiences alike.
UNA CLAUSTROCINEFILIA (Claustrocinephilia): March 2020, the lockdown starts. A cinephile, Alessandro Aniballi, takes refuge in the films of the past, trying to understand how this obsession was born in him. Cinema thus becomes the tool for reconstructing the memory of both oneself and the world outside.
