From 13 to 19 October 2025, the world celebrates the 25th Week of the Italian Language in the World, a cultural initiative promoted annually by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through its diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, with the aim of promoting the Italian language and highlighting its global reach.
This year’s theme, “Italophonia: The Language Beyond Borders”, invites us to reflect on the role of Italian as a living and dynamic language that continues to evolve and thrive in diverse linguistic and cultural contexts beyond Italy’s geographical boundaries.
To mark this special occasion, the Accademia della Crusca has published a dedicated volume, featuring contributions by international scholars, regional experts, and specialists actively engaged in the study and dissemination of the Italian language across the world.
