On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Niawa, in collaboration with Comites NSW and the Italian Cultural Institute Sydney, invite you to the conference: A Red Thread, 70 Years Long: Two Femicides, Same Violence, featuring the screening of the short film “FILI INVISIBILI/INVISIBLE THREADS”
by Fabio Schifilliti, with the director in attendance.
Two femicides: one in 1956, the other in 2025. Two young women separated by time, yet connected by a thread of violence that, even today, we still haven’t been able to break.
Seventy years on, the same question still hits us: what has really changed?
Created by the students of ITT–LSSA Copernico in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (Messina) and directed by Fabio Schifilliti, Invisible Threads starts exactly where it should: at school, among the young people who will inherit the world we are shaping.
Their voices, imperfect and authentic, remind us how urgent it is to educate, to talk, to listen – because violence is a shared responsibility.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we invite you to join us to confront our own helplessness, and to turn it into action.
So that those invisible threads linking distant yet similar stories can finally be broken.
