Flute Recital and Conversation flutist Luisa Sello
The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to co-present with The Woodwind Group a recital by flutist Luisa Sello, which will be followed by a conversation with the artist. Luisa will present a program which takes its inspiration from three colours (green, red and yellow) connected to three different themes (art, love, smile) which will include music by J.S. Bach, R. Bischof, R. Burns, C. Debussy, G. Paisiello, G. Verdi, A. Vivaldi, Mozart/Hoffmeister, V. Parra, A. Piazzolla and G. Rossini.
Luisa Sello, defined by the “New York Concert Review” a ‘lovely mix of extroverted passion and genuine tenderness, with excellent breath control, brilliant technical rendering, engaging intensity, sonorous range and abundance of charm’, is a Flute Miyazawa Artist and an Ambassador of Music and Italian Culture, supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Her international career includes collaborations with Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Wien Symphoniker Orchestra, Thailand Symphony Orchestra, Riccardo Muti, Trevor Pinnock, Alirio Diaz, Carnegie Hall, Juilliard School, Philippe Entremont, Bruno Canino, Prazak Quartett, Salvatore Sciarrino. Visiting professor at the University of Music in Vienna, she is flute professor at the Faculty of Music in Trieste (Italy). In obtaining both her ArtD (Concert Doctorate in Bratislava Academy) in Performing Arts and her PhD in Linguistic and Literary Sciences (Udine University), she obtained her degree at the Conservatory in Udine with Milos Pahor and then she studied in Paris with Raymond Guiot and at the Accademia Chigiana with Severino Gazzelloni, who both remarked her ‘magnificent interpretive sensibility and excellent sound’. She records for Stradivarius and Millennium (Beijing).
