A sculpture by Italian artist Maurizio Perron has been once again selected for the international art exhibition Sculpture the Sea, which will begin on the 24th of October in Sydney. Sculpture by the Sea, founded in 1997, can be considered one of the largest exhibitions in the world and is attended every year by tenths of thousands of visitors. For the event, which is held every year along the Bondi-Tamarama coastal walk, Maurizio Perron has created a wooden sculpture titled Filter.

Born in Turin in 1977, Maurizio Perron started his art studies at 8 years of age with sculptor perronFranco Alessandria. At 11 he attended courses held by Guido Ronchail. He resides in Jouvenceaux, near Turin, and is president and teacher at the local sculpture school. Since 2003 he has been Art Director of the international sculpture symposium “Art in the Forest”, and since 2004 he has been Art Director of the “Art in the Snow” symposium. Since 2005 he has been a member of the “International Association of Monumental Sculpture Events”, and in 2006 he was chief builder of the “Snow Show” at the 20th Turin Winter Olympic Games. Since 1987 Maurizio has participated in more than 100 international sculpture symposiums in 15 countries and 4 continents. This year is the fourth time he will exhibit in Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi.
