Nessuno mi può giudicare (Escort in Love) (online)

nessuno posterA lieto fine – Happy ending

2021 marks the 7th consecutive year of the Italian Cultural Institute’s fruitful collaboration with the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, i.e. the cultural hub of the Liverpool City Council. A collaboration that is expressed with the organization of the screening of movies focussing on contemporary Italian productions.

This year’s movie series is called A lieto fine – Happy ending, with a clear reference to the choice of “light” feature films, not particularly challenging, which want to herald a gradual resumption of all economic and cultural activities, which have unavoidably slowed down and/or have been confined to private settings due to the Covid pandemic, which finally seems to be slowing down its impact on the social life of the population.

Nessuno mi può giudicare (Escort in Love)
(Massimiliano Bruno, 2011, 95’)

Forced to leave their magnificent house, she goes to live in a small apartment in a working-class neighbourhood.

To repay her debts she also has to find work. When she gets to know Eva, a call girl who works in the West End of the town, she follows her example. In parallel, during her free time, Alice meets a certain number of good people in her new area and becomes closer to a man named Giulio.
