The 57th edition of the “Niccolò Paganini” International Violin Competition will take place in Genoa from 16 to 27 October 2023. The competition, now held every two years, is open to violinists of any nationality, religion, ethnic group or gender between the ages of 15 and 30.
The deadline to apply is 20 February 2023. Applications received from the date of publication of the announcement until 12.00 on 20 February 2023 (Italian time) will be accepted. Registration takes place exclusively in digital mode using the form on the website premiopaganini.it. The candidate will also have to enclose her/his Resumé of the candidate.
Violinists of any nationality can participate in the competition who: on the expiry date of the notice (February 20, 2023) are fifteen years of age; on the last date of the final phase of the Prize, 27 October 2023, have not yet turned thirty-one (i.e. born after 27 October 1992).
The international jury, made up of seven members and chaired by Maestro Salvatore Accardo, will be composed of internationally renowned violinists and musicians such as Gyorgy Pauk, Gérard Poulet, Massimo Quarta and Bin Huang.
The winner of the Paganini Prize will be offered the opportunity to play the “Cannone” that belonged to Niccolò Paganini, compatibly with the priority needs of protection and conservation.
The winner of the “Premio Paganini” will receive writings at theatres, orchestras, academies, musical institutions, festivals.
