Sydney Restaurant Group and the Italian Cultural Institute are pleased to present the second event of the Art & Dine Series: Gusto d’Italia, magical evenings in which to explore the glorious relationship between art, food and wine with a series of cleverly crafted Italian regional menus and wines, while also enjoying a unique and captivating art experience.
The second evening is dedicated to the flavours of the Lazio region, home of the capital of Italy, Rome, and will be hosted on Wednesday, the 16th of August at The Fenwick restaurant in Balmain East. An exclusive, multiple course menù with perfectly paired wines will lead you on a memorable journey in the privileged company of an inspiring art presentation.
During the event, award-winning artist Simone Piccioni will display a series of artworks from his varied collections. Born and raised in Rome, Simone is an inspired figurative artist, best known for his evocative paintings of his hometown. His landscapes are described as “a place of poetry and enchantment”.
In recent years, Simone’s art has taken a new direction, delving into the infinite world of interiors and still life, inspired by the simplest contexts. This new focus has earned Simone an international reputation and his works are part of many important private collections, including those of the Prince of Qatar, the President of Italy and Bulgari.
