The Consulate General of Italy in Sydney and the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society Sydney,
are pleased to present Italian architect and restoration curator, Prof. Chiara Rostagno, for a lecture on her latest book, “Art and Nature. The Beauty of the Earth and Life”.
This publication is the culmination of over two decades of research—partly conducted in India—focused on the conservation of art and landscapes.
The lecture will be in Italian.
About Chiara Rostagno:
Prof. Rostagno currently serves as Deputy Director of the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan and Executive Director of the National Museum of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. At the Pinacoteca di Brera, she leads Strategic Directional Projects and is the Curator of the Sculpture and Decorative Arts Department. She has supervised the environmental restoration of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper (2015-2018) and will be in charge of its scheduled maintenance in 2025.
Prof. Rostagno has been lecturing on conservation and restoration theory since 1999 and has authored over 60 scientific papers and publications. Her commitment to cultural exchange has led her to teach and participate in cultural activities worldwide, including in Canada, India, Turkey, Venezuela, China, and France.
