The Italian Cultural Institute in Sydney is delighted to be part of Head On Photo Festival 2026, bringing Italian photographic talent to Sydney through a program of exhibitions celebrating creativity, artistic vision and the power of visual storytelling. Taking place from 6 to 29 November, the Festival showcases photographers from Australia and around the world.
This year, the Festival features the work of two Italian photographers, Virginia Morini and Filippo Poli, whose photographs will be exhibited at Bondi Beach Promenade and Paddington Reservoir, bringing Italian perspectives to two distinctive Sydney locations.
Alongside these presentations, the Institute will host a special collective retrospective exhibition featuring nine Italian photographers who were finalists and award recipients in the Portrait and Landscape categories of the Head On Photo Awards between 2020 and 2025. The exhibition celebrates the diversity and creativity of Italian photography, bringing together a selection of outstanding works from recent editions of the Awards.
Head On Photo Festival transforms Sydney into a vibrant platform for visual storytelling, showcasing compelling images and diverse perspectives through exhibitions and events across the city.
You can visit the retrospective exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute from 10 November 2026, during our regular opening hours.
