Initiative created to foster young generations of Italians and Australians
The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCIAUS), in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, the Consulate General of Italy and ARIA, is pleased to present the inaugural Young Professionals Networking Event, an initiative created by ICCIAUS to foster the generation of Italians and Australians under 40 and to create a meaningful platform to network and share best practices. The event will bring together future leaders, and exhibit some of Italy’s best and most brilliant researchers operating in Australia.
ARIA is the Association of Italian Researchers in Australasia. It was originally founded in the early 2000 on request of the Italian government as a way to bring together Italian researchers working overseas, but it was mostly active in South Australia. From the beginning of 2021 ARIA decided to expand to all Australasia, including all Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. The new board of ARIA is a motivated and dynamic group with the vision to create a strong network of Italian researchers in every field, to create a bridge between researchers, countries, governments, and communities, and to promote collaboration. ARIA has also special projects, including ARIA-women and ARIA-young. The objective of ARIA-women is to connect women across every professional sector: education, research, industry, academia and government. The aim is to promote women in research by offering tailored workshops promoting the work of female Italian researchers, networking events aimed at empowering women and promote a more balanced representation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Mathematics). Another initiative is ARIA Young to provide mentorship and support students interested in STEM careers and support early career researchers in their work.
