24th FLAIANO INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR ITALIAN STUDIES “Luca Attanasio”

The Flaiano International Award for Italian Studies, established in 2002 and dedicated since 2021 to Ambassador Luca Attanasio, reaches its 24th edition, confirming once again the “Young Scholars Under 35” section. Promoted and organized as part of the Flaiano International Awards by the Ennio Flaiano Cultural Association and the Edoardo Tiboni Foundation, the Award has progressively established itself as a significant event for the promotion of works in the field of Italian studies.

Since its first edition, the Award has received the patronage of this Ministry, also benefiting from the collaboration of the Network of Italian Cultural Institutes (IIC) both in promoting the initiative and in identifying the most deserving works. The Award Jury, composed of experts in the field, evaluates works proposed by the Directors of the IICs, who may nominate up to three works published between April 1, 2024, and April 15, 2025, in their respective countries. In preparing these proposals, the collaboration of university departments of Italian studies, where available, is highly recommended. The nominated works must be sent by the IIC, by post and in two copies, to the address indicated in the call for applications by May 10, providing confirmation of the shipment and sharing a presentation sheet of the work and its author via email at associazione.flaiano@gmail.com. If needed, Institutes may also submit their proposals in advance via email to the aforementioned address. In the case of multimedia works (e.g., short films), sending them via email through MAECITransfer, WeTransfer, or a similar tool will be sufficient.

The award ceremony will take place in Pescara on June 28, and any absence of the winner will result in forfeiture of the award. Travel and accommodation expenses for the four winners will be covered by this Office.
