The Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney is pleased to support the Australian Tour of the exciting young Italian piano talent Andrea Molteni. The 26-year-old Andrea Molteni is building his international profile with performances in the US, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
The pianist Australian will perform at the Wesley Music Centre in Canberra, on October 23; at Forhwall Arts in Brisbane on occasion of the Brisbane Jazz Festival on October 27, and at the Goethe Institut in Sydney on the 3rd of November.
Molteni began his career at the age of 15, when he participated at the Bayreuth Festival celebrating Wagern’s 200th anniversary and performed in France and Monte Carlo. In the same year, Mr. Molteni formed a youth orchestra, L’Orchestra del Lago, which he conducted and played with. Since then, he has played at Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Scriabin Museum in Moscow, Esplanade in Singapore, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, National Opera Center and DiMenna Center in New York, Chopin Music University in Warsaw, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, among other venues.
Three albums, recently released on Brilliant Classics and broadcast on France Musique, Germany’s MDR Kultur and Radio Classica in Italy, have received international praise: Petrassi, Dallapiccola: Complete Piano Works, Scarlatti: Sonatas, and Beethoven: Con alcune licenze, featuring Hammerklavier, Op. 110 and The Grosse Fuge, never before recorded in a piano solo version.
Andrea Molteni enjoys the artistic guidance of William Grant Naboré and Stanislav Ioudenitch. He has also participated in master classes with Andras Schiff, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Pavel Gililov, Dang Thai Son, and Vladimir Feltsman.
The pianist regularly performs with orchestras, such as Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi, Orchestra Filarmonica Mihail Johra di Bacau in Romania, and Orchestra of the Costa Rica University.
In the coming season Andrea Molteni has been invited to tour in China and Australia. In his home country he will be performing in Milan, Bergamo, Cremona and other cities. His 2024/25 schedule currently contains 25 concerts on three different continents.
